Nellie: My Barbarian

Last night's performance by My Barbarian was quite interesting. My favorite part was the beginning, when the three people sang their opening piece. Besides beeing perfrormed wonderfully, it was a bit creepy, and dark and twisty, which is why I enjoyed it so much. Plus, it didnt't hurt that the song was catchy.

Another aspect of the performance that I enjoyed was their political messages about Obama's goal of universal healthcare, along with supporting socialism.Well, in my opinion I do think thatthey were supporting socialism. When they are around the table talking about how to decide who dies, I find them playing the role of health insurance companies. Insurance companies are the ones who decide who qualifies to be insured or not, which I find lets them have the hand in who decides who dies and who receives benefits that will help others continue to live long healthy lives. Now, when they talk about Obama's universal healthcare initiative they make it clear that by everyone having the opportunity to have some type of health insurance, dictating how dies and who lives is not up to big health insurace companies. To many, because of his probposed universal healthcare, Obama is a socialist and from what i got from My Barbarian's last song, that is okay. That is how I enterpret their performance.
